Description
Xtentia was appointed as structural engineers to design a new 10 000 m2 distribution warehouse for a national supermarket chain. The warehouse consists out of a steel structure and had to conform to specific rack layouts and distribution flow requirements to meet operational demands. The structure consists out of large roof spans with a minimum of 15.5m high clear headroom to accommodate the storage racking.
The ground floor slab of the warehouse consists of a high specification concrete floor with large joint spacings. The slab is to be able to support high point loads and traffic loads while remaining within a tight degree of flatness to ensure long term operational longevity with no excessive rack tilting.
