Description
The Lancewood Hard Cheese project involved the development of a new 3 300 m2 warehouse to accommodate a new hard cheese processing facility with storage and ancillary areas. The building incorporates a mezzanine floor office and canteen area, and therefore a hybrid composition of materials including steel and concrete was used as the most suitable for the project.
The project required a fast-tracked program with typical constraints expected from such a building such as specific headroom requirements, floor loadings and no column zones. Wind loadings were carefully considered to account for factors such as sea level location and open wind approaching zones. The carbon footprint was reduced as much as possible with the optimization of structural materials.
