Description
The Crown City x 94-95 development consists out of an approximate 20 000 m2 three storey multiple use building to function as a hybrid shopping centre, warehousing and offices. The repetition of the structural elements presented a suitable opportunity to utilize precast prestressed concrete floors with a steel framework in the design to allow for fast-track construction and a reduced program and subsequent associated costs.
The project presented challenges due to the buildings being located very close to adjacent properties and servitudes. The earthworks were designed to be optimized with the natural topography, while still taking client specifications into account.
